I love it when seemingly small players from previous DA games come back and they're suddenly REALLY IMPORTANT.
Also: I am 110% sure that Samson has some weird unrequited hatecrush on Cullen. He’s all, “I know I’m supposed to be fleeing because my nemesis has discovered our hideout but I’m going to stop and write a letter to my ex-roommate explaining my intentions and begging him to join me. I think that the relationship between Cullen and Samson is amazing. Samson is totally the alternate ending of Cullen and I feel there is some rivalry between them, because of it.
I totally love the fact that Samson didn't start with bad intention in DA2, but suddenly became the Inquisition's nemesis, when Cullen wasn't the prince charming in DAO (I didn't forget playing as a mage how he was scared by them). AND POOR MADDOX.
